Here are some photos of lovely Megan getting ready on her big day at Cape Pillars Guesthouse, Durbanville. What a fantastic and beautiful bride to work with, totally relaxed and happy on her big day. Thanks for choosing me to do your hair & make up, Megan! I was assisted by my friend and fellow makeup artist Jeanne Lombaard. The wedding was at Welgelee Wine Farm. The Photographer was Deniz Koksal Rangasamy.
I recently started doing my hair stroke eyebrow tattoo with microblading instead of with the normal Permanent Makeup machine, and fell in love! Microblading (also called eyebrow embroidery or microstroking) is a relatively new, manual method. It is considered to be semi-permanent, as compared to the traditional hair stroke technique done with the machine. It is done by using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis. Because we’re impacting color closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine. There is no blurring of the hair strokes under the skin. To keep discomfort to a minimum, anesthetic […]
Sometimes you just meet a client and it feels like you “click” – Sarah is one of those brides. I just loved being in her company and doing her hair & makeup. The cloudy, rainy weather at Holdenmanz in Franschhoek made for lovely wedding pictures! The photographer was Will Punt from Peartree Photography, you can see the rest of the wedding on his blog. Just a shout out to Teresa of Creation Events – you did a great job as usual ;)
I had such a fun day doing makeup for Kim and her bridal party. What a beautiful couple! The wedding was at Cape Point Vineyards, Noordhoek. Her gorgeous head piece was designed by Kathleen’s bead studio and her one of a kind dress was a Robyn Roberts creation. The photographer was Lauren Kriedeman, always a joy to work with.
Marice was a stunner of a bride! Marice & Werner got married at Leipzig Country House – a lovely venue in the Nuy Valley, just outside of Worcester. I was assisted by my friend Jeanne and we spend a relaxing morning beautifying Marice and her bridal party. The photographer was Carmen Visser – you can see more of this wedding here.
Geraldine married Andre at Val ‘d Or in Franschoek on a windy February day. Andre is a South African originally from Villiersdorp and Geraldine is Scottish. I was assisted my friends Jeanne and Marnette, to do the hair and makeup for the bride, her bridal party and the mothers of the bride and Groom. In spite of load shedding we pulled through and everybody was ready in time for the ceremony. Photography by the lovely Tasha Seccombe and you can see more of this wedding on her blog here.
